It is said that after the huge success of Malaika Arora Khan's item number, 'Munni Badnaam Hui' in 'Dabangg', Farah Khan decided to have one item song for her movie 'Tees Maar Khan' as well. And that item number 'Sheila Ki Jawani' has indeed become a rage now.
Music team:
The music of the song has been composed by duo Vishal and Shekhar and it is sung by Sunidhi Chauhan. Vishal Dadlani has also penned the song and sung a few portions of the item num.
Kat's curves:
Katrina Kaif worked rigorously for six months to ton her abs. Farah Khan said in an interview that post the shooting of the movie, Katrina would workout at 11.30 in the night.
Reward for hard work:
Pleased with Katrina's hard work choreographer-cum-director, Farah Khan promised the actress a huge treat for managing to maintain a slender waist for the song. Once shooting was over, Katrina suddenly craved for Cinnabons. And Farah ordered around three dozen assorted flavors to the sets.
On the sets:
'Sheila Ki Jawani' was shot in five days. And everyday the costume of the dancers including that of Katrina and the sets would change.

In an interview, the choreographer of the song Farah Khan who has also directed 'Tees Maar Khan' says, "For the part of the song where Katrina is clad in a satin bed sheet, we had a 10 feet rotating bed with the men around her. Katrina didn't feel awkward with so many men around. The more they screamed and cheered for her, the more she got a high and her energy levels increased."
Classy mix :
The song was initially suppose to be a raunchy Bhojpuri number, keeping Katrina's character of the film in 'Tees Maar Khan', in mind. But it turned out to be a classy mix between Chicago and Broadway.
