A number of sensors show one part of the ocean floor juts into the east-southeast direction and 24 meters from its original position.
The movement of the underwater land is four times greater than that observed on land, where part of the Oshika Peninsula in Miyagi prefecture is known to have shifted 5.3 meters, according to AFP report.
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said in March that the strong earthquake that shifted the Japan's main island, Honshu, 2.4 meters.
