Miss India in Swimsuit Round

In the 1994 Miss India contest, she won second place, behind Sushmita Sen, and was crowned Miss India World. She went on to win the Miss World title the same year, where she also won the Miss Photogenic award. After winning the pageant, she gave up her studies and spent one year reigning as Miss World in London. Rai continued to pursue a career as a model until she became an actress.

Jaitley came in first place at Femina Miss India 2001 winning the title of Femina Miss India Universe 2001. In addition to her title, she won the Miss Margo Beautiful Skin, Indiatimes Surfer's Choice, and MTV's Most Wanted award. She was subsequently sent to the Miss Universe 2001 contest to represent India where she was a finalist and finished as the 4th Runner Up.

Gul won the coveted Miss India title in 1999, and was crowned Miss Beautiful Smile at the same pageant. At the Miss Universe 1999 pageant, she was ranked among the Top 10 contestants. Gul began her career in Bollywood, with the 2003 film Dhoop. Since then, she has worked in films like Jurm (2005) and the TV series Kashmeer.She played a commoner, fighting hard to save her husband from going to the gallows, in the 2006 Nagesh Kukunoor film, Dor. In 2008, she acted in the films Hello and Summer 2007. In 2009, she was seen in the movie Straight. She featured in Rann in a role attempting to stop her boy friend from doing the right thing. Gul appeared on the front page of Maxim with whom she did a photo shoot in September 2008.

Lara Dutta won the annual Gladrags modeling competition in her native India, thus winning the right to be the first Indian representative at the 1997 Miss Intercontinental, in which she took first place. Later, she was crowned Femina Miss India Universe and Miss Universe in 2000.

Mihika Verma is an actress from India. She won the Miss India International title in 2004. She represented her country in the Miss International 2004. She has acted in popular serials like Viruddh, and Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil and Kitani Mohabbat Hai She is currently playing a role in the popular serial Baat Hamari Pakki Hai which airs on Sony Tv.

Dhupia made her acting debut in a play in New Delhi called Graffiti. Thereafter she appeared in a music video for Indipop band Euphoria and also modeled for various advertisement campaigns. She then appeared in the TV serial "Rajdhani". In 2002 she entered the Femina Miss India pageant finishing in first place, winning the Femina Miss India Universe title, and was subsequently sent to the Miss Universe 2002 pageant in Puerto Rico. She was placed in the top 10.

While being a 2nd year student of NIFT Delhi, she won Femina Miss India contest in 2003. Her final question in the contest was whether she thinks that forgiveness is better said then done; to which she answered "To err is human, to forgive divine, and we have to forgive and move on to make life better." She was crowned by preceding winner Neha Dhupia, and given the chance to represent India at the Miss Universe pageant in Panama City, Panama. However, she failed to place breaking India's 11 year streak of placing in the Top 10 from 1992 to 2002.

She came in second place at the Femina Miss India 2000 competition, winning the Femina Miss India World title. She was subsequently sent to the Miss World pageant, where she was crowned Miss World 2000. In the same year, Lara Dutta and Dia Mirza, both also from India, won the Miss Universe and Miss Asia Pacific crowns respectively, in a rare triple victory for one country. When Chopra won the Miss World crown, she became the fifth Indian woman to win the title, and the fourth Indian woman to win in a span of seven years.

Puja Gupta is an Indian Model and actress. She was the winner of Miss India Universe in 2007 and later went to Mexico to participate in Miss Universe 2007, finishing in 9th place.

Simar Kaur Mundi was crowned Pantaloons Femina Miss India Universe 2008 in Mumbai on 5 April 2008. She then represented India at Miss Universe 2008, held in Diamond Bay Resort in Nha Trang, Vietnam on July 13, 2008.

In 1994, at the age of eighteen, Sushmita won the title of Femina Miss India beating Aishwarya Rai, who was the runner up. Sen represented India at the 1994 Miss Universe Pageant, held in Manila, Philippines and won there.

She won the Femina Miss India 2004 competition held in Mumbai, and was placed in the top ten in the Miss Universe 2004 pageant held in Quito, Ecuador. In 2005, the Government of Jharkhand honored her by releasing postcards and stamps featuring her.

Indian beauty pageant contestant who won the title of I Am She – Miss Universe India and represented India in Miss Universe 2010 held at Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas, Nevada, on August 23.

Meet Sashi Naidoo, voted the world's sexiest woman by FHM South AfricaIndian connection: South African model of Indian origin Sashi Naidoo, voted the world's sexiest woman of 2011 by 1.5 million readers of FHM South Africa, lives by the Gandhian motto - "Be the change you want to see in the world."

The model said she approached everything she did "with love, discipline and focus, in her interpretation of Gandhi's famous words."

Although the title opens up new opportunities for the uber sexy model, who has already been dominating magazine pages for a decade already, Naidoo is determined to use it for the betterment of her charges at the company she heads - Alushi Model Management.

Conceding that she was "bowled over" when told of her latest accolade, Naidoo said her career success as a model had come after she went through high school with braces and teenage acne that left her as "the last girl to be asked to the matric dance."

Lauding Naidoo's win against stiff competition from beauties across the globe, including the likes of Angelina Jolie and pop singer Christina Aguilera, FHM Editor Hagen Engler said she deserved the title.

"Naidoo is everything a man could wish for in a woman gorgeous, vivacious, funny and exciting to be around," says FHM Editor Hagen Engler.

But despite being the dream of millions of men worldwide, Naidoo said her husband Marc Sandler was "rather blase" about her new title. "He said he didn't need anybody to tell him how beautiful I was!"

Naidoo also admitted that competing with the 18-year-olds in her agency was becoming more difficult.

There comes a time when you have to hang up the bikini and I'm definitely reaching it. I'm not going to try to be sexy forever," a practical Naidoo said.
