Justin Timberlake apparently not satisfied with just playing as a social media impresario in the movies. So now, he's just trying their luck to be one of the 'players' in real life.
Pop star, who played the Napster founder Sean Parker in the film The Social Network, a film about Facebook, has joined with Specific Media to buy MySpace from News Corp. in a deal that closed on Wednesday.
Timberlake will have an office at MySpace headquarters in Beverly Hills and with about half a dozen staff who work for him to develop his ideas for the site, said Specific Media CEO Tim Vanderhook.
The partners are expected to unveil their plans to revive the site that began flagging in recent months.
"When we met with Justin and we discussed what our strategy, we are one idea to him," said Vanderhook told The Associated Press.
"The one that he really liked was that this site creates a community to really express themselves," he said.
