Apple iCloud Latest Invention, the is to be Unveiled

Apple iCloud, cloud, iphone5, ios 5 serve as a cloud-based music service (as is all but guaranteed by Apple’s recently sealed deals with the major music labels), says Gruber, but it will absorb much of the functionality currently tasked to iTunes. Right now, the Mac-based iTunes software serves as the syncing hub for iOS devices, like the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Through iTunes, users update all their media, from music to e-books, as well as “App Store apps, contacts, calendars, bookmarks, notes, and any sort of files shared between iOS apps,” writes Gruber. With iCloud, this could all change.

iPhone and iPad owners know, these devices still require a Mac/PC link to get started, and to keep the device properly backed up and updated. With the introduction of iCloud, iOS device users could never have to plug in their device to their Mac/PC again.

In short, the introduction of iCloud could deliver the true end of the PC era for Apple, a service that will allow Apple’s mobile devices to be just as powerful — perhaps more powerful — than the desktop or laptop home bases to which we’ve long been accustomed. If Apple’s iPhone and iPad lines sparked the beginning of the “post-PC” era, then an Apple iCloud, cloud, iphone5, ios 5 that closely matches Gruber’s and Fox’s predictions would usher in the evolution’s second act.

Download A Free Movie For Your Iphone

Download A Free Movie For Your iPhone - Ever since it became apparent that it was possible, many owners of Apple's new Iphone have been doing all they can to download free movies for their Iphone. The general consensus is that using Itunes and other download sites is becoming too expensive, with many owners preferring to get their downloads for free. If you like the sound of free downloads, read on to find out more.

A simple Google search regarding Iphone movie downloads will soon give you an idea of just how many sites claim to offer free downloads. At first this seems great, the only problem being that a good percentage of them are not as they seem, so you need to be very careful. Follow these guidelines to help you spot which sites are trustworthy and which have ulterior motives.

Firstly, you'll need to be prepared to pay. Obviously, the fact that you may have to pay can make it seem like you aren't going to be getting any “free” movies for your Iphone, but you'll find that the most trustworthy sites will charge you a membership or admin fee to give you access to their downloads. This isn't as bad as it sounds, as you are usually only looking at around $30 - $50, and in most cases this will cover you for life. You will literally be downloading things in two years time from that same membership fee. It's easy to see the value when you think of it like that.

Secondly, avoid sites with spyware/adware. It can be easier said than done, so make sure you have reliable and up to date security software, this is essential, and also a good tip is to avoid any sites with those annoying popups etc. You'll often find that the sites with popups and things are the very same ones that will install spyware etc, so try to avoid these sites for maximum safety.

Thirdly, be sure to avoid the torrent or P2P sites, also known as file sharing sites. These first came into popularity five or so years ago, and should be avoided for a couple of very good reasons- first of all, downloading stuff from sites like this is illegal in most territories, so check your own local laws first. Second of all, these sites can be a real haven for hackers and spammers etc. All the files are uploaded to the sites by other users, and mostly there is no supervision which allows them to upload whatever they like. This means you could be happily trying to download the latest Brad Pitt movie only to find that the file you download contains nothing but a nasty virus!

If you have an iPhone, you'll already know what an excellent device it is, and hopefully this article will allow you to get even more enjoyment from it. Thanks for reading.

Apple Macbook Pro 2011 Come Out This April, See Preview!

Apple Macbook Pro 2011 Come Out in April - We have been keeping you up to date recently on potential new Macbook Pro arrivals, but now we have some fresh details which are sure to attract your interest. A new advertisement by Intel has teased an upcoming Macbook Pro, but one which will look different from the rest.

It looks pretty special doesn’t it? The picture doesn’t give away much, but you can definitely see the black display and black body in the Macbook’s position shown above. We definitely love the classic Silver Macbook Pro, but we can’t help but get excited over a new color joining the family.

The ad itself isn’t about the Macbook Pro specifically, rather a reminder from Intel about the multimedia capabilities of their new Core i5 processors, which are featured on their current 15-inch model Macbook Pros.

We’re praying that more info on this elusive black model comes to light soon, for now let us know your thoughts on a new color – would you dig a sleek black Macbook Pro or not? It could be hitting the Apple Store as early as this March. Stay tuned for further details on this as we get it.

While the MacBook Pro last received a significant refresh in April 2010, it is not clear yet if Apple will be going in a new direction with its professional level laptop and releasing a new design rather than a spec bump.  We have noted that the new MacBook Pro will likely forgo hard drives in favor of the solid state drives (SSD) as seen on the new MacBook Air.  While this would likely result in a cost increase in the higher end models given the cost of 512GB solid state storage, there are other tactics that Apple could use in order to maintain professional level storage and functionality.

How to Get Videos onto Your iPod Video

How to Get Videos onto Your iPod Video - The iPod video is known as the last generation of iPods, which surprised the market and the sales since its appearance. Basically, this new device is able to play videos. If this seems like fun, the technical part might need some guidance.

Firstly, you should know that both the PSP and iPod can play H.264 / MPEG-4 encoded videos with AAC audio tracks. Due to this fact, the resolution is rather limited, together with the limitation of the bit rates that you can use on the device. For the new iPod video, this limits means (for the H.264 video) up to up to 768 Kbps, 320 x 240 and 30 frames per second. For the MPEG-4 video, the limits are up to 2.5 mbps, 480 x 480 and the same 30 frames per second. Even more, the AAC audio bit rate is around 160 Kbps. After establishing these limits, the next step is to establish the source of the video, which can be either from a DVD or a video of the computer.

In other terms, the company Apple claims, in a purely informative ad which is posted on the official website, that the new iPod, as they call the new iPod video, can store 15, 000 songs, 25, 000 photos and not less than 150 hours of video.

If wanting to get a video from a DVD, then the first thing you should do is to insert the DVD in the device. After this, you should open (in case it doesn’t immediately open by itself) the DVD, using file and open DVD from the menu. Check the options in the DVD menu, to set up everything as you like, meaning language, subtitles or chapters. Begin playing the movie, using the DVD menu to navigate. When the movie begins, you should press the record button and select the folder in which you want to store the recorded files. When you want to end the recording, simply click the stop button and if the recording goes well, there will be a screen confirmation that you have converted your file successfully.

If you wish to convert a video from your computer to your iPod video, then the first thing that you should do is go to the menu file and click open video file. After this, your video is supposed to begin to play, the perfect moment to adjust the video as you like. Also, you can set the perfect moment to start the recording, using the bottom playback controls. When you decided this, click the button record and feel free to stop it at any time. After recording, just like in the case of importing videos from a DVD device, there will be a message on the screen saying that everything went on successfully.

If respecting these basic rules, the videos and movies will be stored carefully in your iPod and you will be free to watch them, at any time. Still, be aware of the fact that the iPod offers limited space and resolution, which means that you should be picky when deciding what to keep and what to delete. The new iPod video is a challenging and innovative product that combines music with images, offering, for the first time, the possibility of playing video on such a small digital device.

New iPad Bluetooth Keyboard Case You Should Have

What exactly is an iPad keyboard case? It’s a traditional iPad case that folds out to expose an internal keyboard.  And it typically will hold up the iPad at various angles so you can type.  With some of them, the keyboard will detach and with others it will stay stationary.

Sena Bluetooth Keyboard Case

The Clamcase
Aida Case

Here are three of these types of iPad keyboard cases you might want to check out.

THE CLAMCASE
iPad keyboard case that looks more like a laptop than a case.  It is an all-in-one system that houses your iPad and actually looks pretty good.  The body of the case reminds you of a black Macbook.  Remember those? The Clamcase is not out yet but it is slated for the Fall of 2010 (which is now).

It has a bluetooth keyboard that offers a tactile feedback allowing you to compose and type quickly. The iPad automatically to the keyboard wirelessly which also means the 30-pin dock connector is free for charging.

The case also flips 360 degrees so you can use the iPad in multiple positions and still keep it housed inside the enclosure.  And speaking of the enclosure it has a smooth but grippy rubberized exterior for better holding and carrying around.

Another feature is what they call the infinity stand.  This is a feature of the case which allows and endless combination of positions to accommodate your needs.

There is no pricing yet listed on the website other than a range of prices they are asking what people would pay for one.  I would pay $99 for one but not $169.  These are definitely a very nice and sturdy looking case.  So far I like the look of this one and it’s made out of a strong ABS plastic so it should withstand quite a bit and not break.

AIDACASE
another very nice looking iPad case with a keyboard built in.  This one actually looks like a leather folio but inside it reveals a nice full-size keyboard.  It is called the Keycase Folio Deluxe.  The keyboard is a Bluetooth wireless keyboard which is made out of silicone.  One nice thing about that is the protection you will get form spills.  It also allows for very quiet typing so if you are concerned about noise then you might want to consider this case.
Something else that is really nice is that the keyboard has a built-in rechargeable battery.  It can last up to 45 hours per charge and it can also be charged using a USB connection.

On the case, there is a magnetic clasp that keeps it closed and this extends the entire height of the case which helps to secure the iPad in place.

This iPad case with keyboard looks pretty darn good.  Customers that bought it had a few slight issues.
1.  They wish it was real leather for better durability
2. The silicone keyboard is much better for short messages and not long documents

Other than those two minor issues, people see satisfied with it overall.

Sena Keyboard Folio Case
Sena is a strong hopeful to the current lineup.  It is made from the finest quality European leather and includes an integrated Bluetooth wireless keyboard.  It offers a book style look and a side folding design with cutouts for all of the ports and speaker.

It has a soft velvet protective lining on the inside while the iPad is kept secure by a leather strap and further protection via a secure flap with snap enclosure.

The Sena is handcrafted and thus it is a little more expensive coming it at $149.  However you can pre-order for $129.  The keyboard itself has 45 hours of battery life and is ergonomically sound with a low profile and nice soft buttons (it has a silicone face).

The press release did not say when the Sena iPad keyboard case would be shipping but they are definitely taking pre-orders so that’s a good sign.  This is definitely a case that is perfect for an executive or frequent traveler that uses the iPad as a notebook replacement.

The Sena name is synonymous with high quality and durable products so it’s likely that this case will also function very well and hopefully allow you to type without a lot of distraction or noise.

iPod Workouts - A Trainer You Can Take Anywhere

iPod Workouts - A Trainer You Can Take Anywhere - Yesterday I was riding in my truck.  I went over a bridge that had some exceptionally quick and repetitive bumps.  As I crossed this relatively short bridge and passed an uneventful point in my life something happened that has had me thinking for a full day now.  I felt my belly jiggle.  And when I looked down, I could sort of see it jiggle from under my shirt.  I hated that.

So, what do I do about it?  Well, if I want to hop on some sort of bandwagon that may actually have the legs to make it into an actual established activity, I need look no further than in the front pocket of my backpack.  What’s in there?  Nothing short of a 20 gig powerhouse packed with nothing less than thousands of my favorite songs.  Yes, its my well used ipod.  I must confess that for the year or so that I’ve owned my ipod, the state of my belly has not improved, but seems to have actually deteriorated.  But, that was before I began to hear about a new use for it (aside from bothering friends into listening to a song that will “change their life”).

Ipod workouts are yet another thing that this apple product is doing that no one expected.  Obviously, a benefit while working out with your ipod is its mobility and its ability to absorb shocks that cd players can’t.  But, the new fad of ipod workouts has taken that at least a step or two further.  There have been several workout instructions that are now available to be purchased or downloaded.  This is like getting yourself a personal trainer that will walk you through your workouts whenever and wherever your heart desires.  Some of these can even come with images that can be displayed on your screen.

The point is that at times one of the biggest obstacles in the way of you and a belly that doesn’t jiggle when going over bridges is knowing what to do during your workout and having the motivation to do so; and both of these may be significally minimized by using an ipod workout.

iPad 2 Announcement Rumors on February

iPad 2 Announcement Rumors on February - Kevin Rose says he has it "on good authority" that Apple will be announcing iPad 2 in the next 3-4 weeks, possibly February 1.

He also says it will have front and back cameras and a sharper screen. Here’s an interesting tidbit from Digg’s founder Kevin Rose, whose previous track record when predicting Apple products and new OS features has been either fairly accurate or terribly wrong. So take this with the proverbial grain of salt, as Kevin Rose tweeted and wrote a new entry on his personal blog about the next iPad, the iPad 2. According to Rose, the device will be announced in the next “3-4 weeks”, possibly on February 1.

He also claims the next-gen iPad is going to feature a Retina Display and dual cameras, although in an update to the post he clarifies saying a source told him it won’t be a Retina Display, but a “higher dpi” screen.
I have it on good authority that Apple will be announcing the iPad 2 in the next “3-4 weeks”, possibly Tuesday February 1st. The iPad 2 will feature a retina display and front/back cameras.
If you’re thinking of buying an iPad, hold off for now.
Spoke w/another source, the display has a “higher dpi”, but not technically a retina display. This seems odd to me, we’ll have to wait and see..

Yes, we’ll see. Previous iPad 2 rumors suggested the device would get a Retina Display and rear / front facing cameras as well.

Nintendo 3DS - Hands-on Impressions from E3 2010

Nintendo's 3DS is easily the most alluring device of this year’s E3.  All day, show attendees were waiting for up to an hour and a half just to get their eyes on the 3DS for just a few minutes.
But what a fantastic few minutes they are.  While the 3D effect isn’t for everyone (some people experience eye strain), the effect is convincing, doesn’t require glasses, and can easily be switched off via a slider on the right hand side of the system.

To be perfectly clear; I liked the 3D, I can’t wait to play the system again tomorrow, and I’m impressed by how much innovation Nintendo consistently brings to the table.

That said, my brief time with the system taught me a lesson quickly:  you have to be right in front of the screen for the 3D effect to work.  If you’re slightly to one side or another, you’ll start seeing ghosting of the image on the edges.  Move just a bit more, and you’re looking at a blurry, unplayable mess.  Still, when you’re looking straight onto the device, the 3D is very good.  It’s as if you’re looking into a hole or into space, rather than having things actively pop out at you.  The effect seems to make certain elements “shiny.”  There’s no question about it; the Nintendo 3DS is definitely cool, but what was on display to play really wasn’t developed from the ground up for the system, so it’ll be hard to guess how developers will actually use the 3D capabilities.

The demos that were available were from static images and movies, scenes from classic NES games, to StarFox.  Several full games have been announced for the 3DS, but none were being shown.  One game that we know is coming to the 3DS is Sims 3. This was announced during a brief presentation we attended late in the day at EA’s booth.

While the 3D effect is the 3DS’ main selling point, Nintendo has a few more surprises for gamers next year when the system ships.  The big surprise will be “how powerful is this system?”  Nintendo isn’t talking much about the horsepower behind the 3DS, they want us simple journalists to focus on the games.  Screen real estate will be a gift to developers, as the Nintendo 3DS has a 16:9 top screen, and a 4:3 bottom screen.  Many console games are now being developed as wide screen games, so it will be interesting to see if developers are more tempted to port titles from other development platforms to the 3DS as a result of having a similar screen sizes.  The analog stick, which is implemented far more cleanly than the PSP, also came as a bit of a surprise, as the 3DS is the first Nintendo portable to boast that feature.  The 3DS also comes with a 3D camera, which will be a lot of fun to take pictures of friends, etc.  Since the camera will be integrated into every 3DS, and the 3DS is a new platform, it’s easy to imagine that the 3D camera will be more of an element in games than in the DSi (which also has a camera, but is more of a one-off version of the current DS).

Microsoft Stays Silent on Kinect Pricing

Microsoft, in a double-barreled media blitz Sunday night and Monday morning, was eager to tell the world every detail about its newest game technology, Kinect -- everything, that is, except the price.

Kinect is designed to connect to Microsoft's Xbox 360 game console and let players navigate and play games without a game controller or remote control. Kinect consists of three sensors -- a depth sensor, a camera and a microphone -- on a motorized device the size of a giant candy bar.

Microsoft, at a press conference held a day before the opening of the Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles, highlighted several demos showing how the device can recognize faces, read hand and body gestures and understand a dozen or so verbal commands such as "pause," "stop" and "play music." Instead of using a remote control, users can navigate through menus by using their hands in a way similar to the way character Tony Stark swiveled through virtual screens in "Iron Man 2."

So far, so good. The flow of information, however, stopped short of naming a price for Kinect, which is slated for launch this year.

Turns out Microsoft is in an awkward position here. On the one hand, its video game unit, headed by video game veteran Don Mattrick, is under orders from Microsoft Chief Executive Steve Ballmer to be profitable -- or at least not hemorrhage money the way it did in the early years.

On the other hand, Microsoft wants average consumers and families to buy in.

The problem is that the cost of Kinect will come on top of the cost of an Xbox 360, which is currently priced at $200 to $300. The Wii, in contrast, is $200 and includes a Wii remote and the Wii Sports suite of mini-games. It doesn't take a math genius to guess which system a cash-strapped consumer will choose.

But Microsoft is hoping to change the equation by offering sweeteners -- it announced a multi-year deal to be the exclusive console provider of live, on-demand games broadcast by ESPN. Subscribers of its Xbox Live Gold online game service will have access to 3,500 live sports events at no additional cost.

The missing variable is what Microsoft will charge for Kinect. To keep costs down, perhaps Microsoft will spend less money to promote that bit of information than it has spent unveiling Kinect's other features.
