Stephanie Seymour in Bikini Beach Family Vacation

Stephanie Seymour, 42 years old, showed she still has her model's body on a beach vacation with her husband and children in the exclusive resort of St. Bart's.

Pictures show the relaxed model (who had some redness and tan lines on her back from not enough sunscreen) frolicking in the surf with her family.

The happy family outing was nowhere near as scandalous as her last appearance on a beach. Stephanie Seymour and her 17-year-old son, Peter Brant II, were caught in a loving embrace during a family beach vacation. Some people thought the embrace signaled an inappropriate mother-son relationship, prompting Peter to release a statement.

Stephanie Seymour also told Oprah that she was heartbroken her son felt he needed to clarify the photos on his own.

Tips for Your Travel Trips

We love taking trips, whether it’s a short road trip, or a longer trip by air to some distant exotic place. But all too often we fail to plan for our trip and the result is frustration and annoyance.

1. For road trips, get the right maps and plan your route thoroughly. Everything won’t go exactly to plan, but at least you’ll have much fewer nasty surprises.

2. Never, ever make a joke about bombs or terrorists near security at an airport. Many people have jokingly mentioned they have a small bomb in their case as their luggage is being inspected. Later at the police station they deeply regretted their stupidity.

3. Be immediately suspicious in airports, railway or bus stations when someone bumps into you. It may be a pickpocket. Also be aware if something is spilled on you, or a spot on your clothing is pointed out to you. These things are designed to distract your attention from what is really going on: the theft of your valuables.

4. While cruises make planning easy with their all in charges, there is likely to be many extra items that you should budget for. These include, taxes, surcharges and fees, tipping, drinks, some shore excursions, shopping purchases, etc.

5. The most obvious thing to check on before setting off on a foreign trip is the state of the local weather where you are going. You don’t want to arrive in a tee shirt if it’s snowing, or in a fur coat if it’s in the 90s.

6. When travelling with children bring along recent photos of each one. If a child gets lost, the photo will prove invaluable in helping to locate the child again.

7. A trip to a theme park will suffer from a lack of careful planning. Some parks are so big that planning is essential. Get a list of all the rides and a map of the park, as well as opening and closing times, before setting off.

Plan Your Holidays: Travelling

When it comes to travelling to your vacation rental, there are a number of ways in which you can do it. Each different method of transportation has its own advantages and disadvantages so it is important to keep all of those in mind when you come to finally decide which type of transportation you are going to use.

For many people, travelling by car is the easiest and cheapest way to travel. Many families happily set off on their summer vacations in their car; however it can be fairly stressful. You need to ensure that you have a good idea of where it is you are going. That may sound quite obvious, but many people don’t check where they are going, they just take it as it comes and that is when trouble can start. You should never just set off and hope for the best, especially if you have children with you. Children can be hard to travel with at the best of times and so you really do not want to end up getting lost with them in the car! Another thing you need to consider when you are travelling by car is the fact that the value of the car goes down the more miles that you do. So if you are planning to resell the car then you may want to rethink a road trip!

Air travel is quite popular and it is what most families prefer to use. You can choose from a large number of flights and it doesn’t take as long as travelling by car. However, you will still need to consider a few tings before you book your flight. The first is if you have a baby then you will need to check whether the plane will have a changing room facility. Often the bathrooms in planes are too small to change a baby in and that is something that does need certain consideration. Also you will need to take some form of entertainment for your children so that they do not become bored on the flight. You may be able to get discounts on flights if you purchase your tickets online. Also you may be able to save money off accommodation and activities too as some airlines are in partnership with popular resorts.

Overall travelling by air and by car are the two main types of transportation that people like to use when going on holiday. There are advantages and disadvantages to both so it is worth looking at them both in detail to see which option would be better for you.

Travel Insurance – Bringing You Home

Travel Insurance – Bringing You Home. Overseas travel is one thing that people all over the world aspire to. Whether cruising around the Greek Islands on a luxury yacht, sipping brandy by the fire in a Swiss chalet after a day of skiing; or elephant spotting in Kenya, an overseas trip can be the adventure of a lifetime. Unfortunately, though, it can also be the disaster of a lifetime unless due diligence is carried out prior to setting off.

Along with passports and plane tickets, one of the most important things to remember before traveling overseas is to arrange Travel Insurance. Not just any “cheapest-you-can-find” travel insurance, but a policy that will take good care of you should the unforeseen occur.

Types of travel insurance vary from company to company and it is well worth your while to spend some considerable time shopping around before committing to one policy. Remember, what is considered an acceptable risk by one insurer, may be excluded by another. Definitions of terms may also vary.

Take terrorism, for example. Most insurance policies will exclude acts of terrorism from being claimable events, however, the definition of what constitutes a terrorist act can vary between insurers. What one insurer may deem as an act of violence and therefore claimable, another insurer may deem terrorism and deny any claim.

In this age of terrorism threats and war-torn nations, travelers should always heed governmental advice as to whether or not travel to certain regions is recommended. If deciding to travel to a country despite government warnings, it may be difficult to obtain travel insurance at all. If it is obtained, it will probably be very expensive and its cover fairly limited.

It is crucial that you understand exactly what is and isn’t excluded from the policy before you sign on the dotted line. Indeed, being aware of the exclusions is, arguably, even more important than knowing what is covered. Get clear in your mind the insurer’s definition of claimable and non-claimable events. If at all possible, endeavor to get those definitions in writing.

Get the language right. Ask as many questions as it takes to know exactly where you stand. Remember, the only dumb questions are ones that haven’t been asked yet and given a voice. If going through a broker or agent, double check with the insurer if uncertain of their answers. It’s wise to remember too, that no insurance policy is going to cover you for every single thing that could possibly happen on your holiday. The prudent traveler will ensure, however, that what he or she needs to be covered for will be.

For example, does the policy allow you to participate in “adventure activities”? If you’re going bungee jumping in New Zealand or white-water rafting in Canada, make sure your insurer knows about it and will cover you for accidents occurring during such activities.

Is your luggage excluded if left unattended? What does “left unattended” mean? What if you leave it in a taxi? What if you walk two meters from it to buy a chocolate bar from a vending machine?

It’s a good idea to also familiarize yourself with claims procedures before departing so as to avoid the “paper frenzy” in the event of an accident. Some policies have a time limit for reporting claims. In some cases, the incident must be reported to local authorities within twenty-four hours in order to claim.

Be aware too that some countries may not recognize all insurance companies. This could pose a problem if hospitalization is required. If the insurer isn’t recognized in that country you may not get hospital treatment. Make sure that the insurer has a global reputation.

It’s very expensive to be injured overseas. For instance, medical evacuation from the United States to Australia can cost anything from $80,000.00 upwards. If a stay in hospital is required, the bill could run into hundreds of thousands of dollars. And you thought shopping in Beverly Hills would be fun….

It’s also dangerous to be injured overseas, particularly in countries where medical facilities may not be as well equipped as at home. Again, the evacuation costs can run into many thousands of dollars - and no insurance means a lifetime of debt.

Traveling without the right travel insurance is like walking a tightrope without a net. Sure, it can be done, but one tiny slip and it’s too late for “If only”s. And chances are, it will be your loved ones at home who will mortgage their houses, cash in their superannuation and face considerable financial hardship in order to bring you back to the fold.

All in all, travel insurance is one thing you should definitely not leave home without!
