Dateline aired Brooke Wilberger’s story tonight, and perhaps the most incredible part of the story is the fact that Brooke Wilberger’s mother was able to thank Joel Courtney for finally revealing where Brooke’s body was located after he took her life.
Brooke Wilberger was abducted from an apartment complex by Joel Courtney. He lured her to his car by asking her for help moving a package, but when she approached him, he held a knife to her and told her to get into the car. Sadly, Brooke’s life ended in a wooded area about 10 miles away from where she was taken.
In the ultimate fight for justice, Brooke’s mother and siblings made a deal with Joel Courtney. He was given life in prison in New Mexico in exchange for revealing where Brooke’s remains were located.
During a press conference after his conviction, Brooke Wilberger’s mother expressed gratitude towards Joel Courtney for finally bringing closure to her family on what happened to Brooke.

Her murderer, Joel Courtney, 43, was the suspect in another kidnapping case in 2005, of a woman who miraculously escaped with her life, by another woman who saw her being abducted.
Courtney pled guilty to the kidnapping of the prior 22 year-old woman in New Mexico, and was hoping to not be extradited to Oregon for the murder of Wilberger. Cammy Wilberger, Brooke’s mother, was, incredibly thankful to Courtney for letting them know where the body was, and said as much to the amazement of the courtroom, when she and her family spoke to the criminal.
Much to his dismay, he was, but gave the Wilberger family the location of the body of Brooke to relieve himself of the death sentence, five years after the search for Brooke Wilberger began and with his capital murder trial just months away, Courtney pleaded guilty and confessed to her rape and murder.
He agreed to reveal the location of Wilberger’s body and detail what happened. His sister, Dina Courtney, only has a sorrowful heart, and gives her horrifying childhood details to lead investigator to Dateline’s Kate Snow, and the story also was collaborated with another of Dateline’s reporters in Oregon, Shane Bishop.

As a child and godchild of historians and a lover of history myself, I believe that every month is Black History Month and I revel in it 365 days a year, 366 in a leap year of black history facts, black history, black history month, black history people, famous african americans.
As a child and godchild of historians and a lover of history myself, I believe that every month is Black History Month and I revel in it 365 days a year, 366 in a leap year of black history facts, black history, black history month, black history people, famous african americans.
It's one of the missions of this blog to find and document the lost history of transpeople of African descent, and compile the current history being made so that our transkids growing up now and Black transpeople in general know that they have played major roles in shaping the 'T' part of the TBLG community and are expanding beyond that to impact the cis African American and cis communities as well.
We have some interesting stories to tell. And I'll also bring some of those interesting nuggets of Black trans history to the forefront in addition to whatever Black history I feel moved to comment on for the next 28 days.

According to the reports, Black History Month has its roots in something called Negro History Week. In 1925, an African-American historian Dr. Carter G. Woodson, who set up the Association for the Study of Negro Life and History, planned Negro History Week as a way to persuade people to learn more concerning black history. He selected a week in February that integrated the birthdays of both Abraham Lincoln and black abolitionist Frederick Douglass.
In the early 1970s, Negro History Week was re-christened Black History Week to replicate the altering language used to portray African-Americans. After that, in 1976, as America pragmatic its bicentennial, Black History Week was prolonged to the full month celebrate today of black history facts, black history, black history month, black history people, famous african americans.

When it comes to Groundhog Day, there are two vocal camps -- one of which holds Groundhog Day to be the most insipid of holidays. Sony said late Wednesday that it would soon push out a 3.56 firmware update for the PS3. The company wouldn't give details other than that it would add a "security patch." Most expect that it will attempt to close up the holes exposed by Geohot and fail0verflow that prompted a DMCA lawsuit.
The company has made a regular practice of pushing out minor updates in the past several months under the guise of security that have almost always been intended to patch jailbreaks. It's unknown if the latest attempt was successful or if it will last for long. In creating its most recent exploit, fail0verflow may have discovered a permanent technique that could either leave it always open or have patches that are rendered obsolete in days or even hours.

Warner Bros. announced the casting today for Christopher Nolan's latest film in the superhero saga, "The Dark Knight Rises." Hathaway will appear opposite Christian Bale, who's returning as Bruce Wayne and Batman.
The studio also announced that Tom Hardy, whom Nolan directed in last year's "Inception," will play one of Batman's enemies, Bane. "The Dark Knight Rises" is slated for release on July 20, 2012.
Hathaway, an Oscar nominee for 2008's "Rachel Getting Married," will co-host the Academy Awards with James Franco on Feb. 27.

V for Victory - You are the Resistance!
You are resistance, you are the resistance, is kevjumba a heterosexual bear wrestler, is kevjumba a virgin, is kevjumba. Today the Resistance “V’s” appeared all over the country. Here the V stands for Victory. Clearly, V is meant for Victory campaign a mark of defiance against Homeland Security’s takeover of society. The V campaign meant ordinary people could feel they were doing something, however symbolic, to protest against the Occupation.
The British radio has called on people to write V for victory everywhere and they are all over the place, even on shop fronts. They are also written on blackboards, on tables everywhere. The people also wearing a new badge: a V made with two crossed pins and worn on the lapel. Everywhere I am seeing the people wearing these badges.
America is in threaten, the United States is being occupied as Homeland Security launches a total takeover of society and attempts to instruct an army of citizen spies as the country accelerates its slide into banana republic despotism. Americans who can see what is unfolding feel helpless, powerless and overawed by the clear evisceration of their freedoms. The time has come for a massive campaign of powerful, symbolic, peaceful resistance.
It’s all about fighting back against the psychological warfare we are now being subjected to by our new would-be slavemasters. They like to remind us that they’re our bosses with their signs – report suspicious activity posters and video messages at Wal-Mart checkouts – terrorism tip line billboards – Homeland Security posters telling. Americans where they can and can’t park their car – using symbols, slogans and messages to herd the sheep and elicit their obedience is obviously a very important component of any authoritarian regime – so why not fight back with our own symbols, slogans and messages?
So this is a V campaign that everyone who wants to put on record their opposition to this tyranny can become involved with – the added incentive of cash prizes adds the element of competition and also increases media coverage.
For me, the letter ‘V’ brings to mind several things, and usually it is not Nixon’s winged V while boarding the Air-Force One helicopter or the hippie peace signal. More often than not the images brought to mind are from Thomas Pynchon’s novel “V” and Alan Moore’s fantastic graphic novel “V for Vendetta.” Incidentally, Moore was particularly influenced by the novel “V” when crafting his Guy Fawkes-masked rebel.
What is it about the letter ‘V,’ though, that inspires the human imagination in underground movements and subversive activities? You are resistance, you are the resistance, is kevjumba a heterosexual bear wrestler, is kevjumba a virgin, is kevjumba.
Well, in the Middle Ages it was the “archer’s salute,” which they held aloft and palm outward to identify friendlies. It later became a symbolic hand gesture with palm inward to signal “fuck off” or “fuck you.” I’ve also seen it employed in an up and down gesture to signal anal penetration (on “Little Britain,” to be exact).
‘V’ also shows up from time to time in photographs as the rabbit ears behind a friend or family member’s head, or to signal that one person is watching another.
So where did the current V for Victory Campaign acquire the symbol?
During World War II, Victor Auguste de Laveleye, former Belgian minister of Justice and director of the Belgian French-speaking broadcasts on the BBC, suggested that the Allies use the letter ‘V’ as a symbol in a psychological warfare campaign against the Nazis. Laveleye said in the broadcast:
“[T]he occupier, by seeing this sign, always the same, infinitely repeated, [would] understand that he is surrounded, encircled by an immense crowd of citizens eagerly awaiting his first moment of weakness, watching for his first failure.”
The ‘V’ symbol starts popping up all over France, Belgium and the Netherlands, and was later adapted by Churchill in a campaign that involved using an audible ‘V’ with Morse Code, by using the first four notes of Beethoven’s 5th Symphony. It was used as the call sign by the BBC in their broadcasts across occupied Europe during the rest of WWII. Recall that the first four notes of the 5th symphony were meant to represent fate knocking at one’s door. Isn’t psychological warfare fantastic?
Aleister Crowley claimed to have given the V-sign to Churchill, which he said he’d been using since at least 1913. Crowley, who was also a British spy, said he used the V-sign in order to negate the magical potential of the Nazi’s use of the Swastika, itself a symbol of the Eastern religions.
