> After completion of Flash back, Rajendraprasad accepts his sons love, fourth song “Adhira Adhira..” started and the song is good.

> Flash back started, Rajendraprasad and Sindhu Tulani (Siddharath’s mother) loves each other and they eloped from their houses and get married each other. Sindhu Tulani is a sister of Ahuthi Prasad, due their secret marriage from 14years they are living separately from their families. This entire scene materializes like ‘Love Aaj Kal’ film.

> Second half started in Rajendraprasad’s house, where both couple went to Rajendrprasad’s house by knowing their secret marriage Rajendraprasad scolds Siddharath, some discussion held between father and son. Finally Rajendraprasad starts telling the flash back to Siddharath.

> It was shown that due to their family disputes only, village got separated into two and temple (SitaRam Temple) is also separated where Ram Idol was kept in one village and Sita idol was kept in one village. It was happened 14years ago.

> After that due to some persons in villagers Siddharth and Praneetha came to know that they belong to one family and they leaved together in their childhood. Here some scenes are shown that Ahuthi Prasad and Rajendraprasad belong to single family, they used to live together as a joint family, due to some misunderstanding they both get separated and living in two different villages.

> After the song Ahuthi Prasad was introduced as Heroine’s father, Tannikella Bharani entered as heroine’s uncle (mama) where he is trying to do wedlock of his son (Shown in negative character) with heroine.

> So far the movie is not jelled with expected comedy, it going in a slow track.

> Next scene, Siddharth and his friend went to some other village, Heroine Praneetha entered and Siddharth fell in love with her in first site and he is trying to impress her. Second song “Na Rama Chilaka” started and this song is good.

Then Rajendraprasad explains the villagers that always his son’s behavior tends to happen good things not bad, so why they are forcing him to leave. Hissss Movie Review

The Film

HISSS has nothing extraordinary to show except some visual effects that are not up to the mark compared to other films of this genre.

The Synopsis

An American hunter George (Jeff Doucette) comes to India in search of a cobra as he believes that it has cure for cancer. He captures the snake and kills it which enrages its mate (Mallika Sherawat). She transforms into a human female and her anger unleashes mindless deaths. Vikram Gupta (Irrfan Khan) is given the assignment to catch the killer. The rest of the story deals with the unraveling of the mystery of the snake woman.

The Performance

Hissss Movie Review
With a poor story line, Mallika Sherawat has nothing much to do except some bare acts. Irrfan is good but fades out in a poorly etched role. Jeff Douchette tries hard but unimpressive. All others just go through their motions.

The Techniques

A very weak story, hampered by a loose screenplay makes the film yawn and fret. E ven director Jennifer Lynch cannot make anything worthwhile to see in the film. The special effects do not appear to be very special at all and fade away in the mediocrity of the total film. Cinematography and audiography also do not make much of an impression.

The Verdict

Hisss can safely be given a miss.

and his elder brother provoke him to do away with the perpetrators of the crime. He gets sucked into the faction feuds and the rest of the story deals with the rise of Pratap into the realms of political power.

The Performances

Vivek Oberoi steals the show with a powerful performance. Kota Srinivasa Rao lives his role. Abhimanyu Singh essays his role convincingly. Shatrughan Sinha, seen on the screen after a long time, is his usual self. All others do well with author backed roles.

The Techniques

As is his wont, RGV comes out with a very gripping story and screenplay. The

dialogues add to the flow of the narration. Background music is good. Cinematography is excellent. Technically and production wise the film scores on the high side.

The Verdict

Rakta Charitra should be seen to understand the nature of feuds that sometimes cloud the practice of politics. Ram Gopal Varma has given another Sarkar level film.

Brindavanam Movie Previews

The one big remaining film for the festive season is releasing on Thursday, October 14th. Vamsi Paidipally directed Brindavanam has Kajal Agarwal and Samantha Ruth Prabhu as the heroines. NTR Jr. will be seen in an out and out family entertainer this time. Srihari and Prakash Raj don't get along well, their daughters are Samantha and Kajal respectively. Srihari's daughter is in love with NTR Jr. but when she gets to know that Kajal is being forced into a marraige with the villain's son, she sends her love interest NTR Jr. to save her out of the situation. In the process the duo are drawn to each other.

Will Kajal who's aim is to go abroad for higher studies stay back? What will happen to Samantha? NTR mends the differences between Srihari and Prakash Raj, and the villages too. But there is a small twist in the end.

NTR Jr. is hoping for a change of image with Brindavanam. He says, "The film is a mix of Simhadri and Bommarillu. I'm sure it will appeal to all sections of the audience." NTR Jr. has completely changed his look and moustache for the film. Though his fans would love to see him more in action roles, he is bent upon playing different characters.

The other cast of Brindavanam are Kota Srinivas Rao, Brahmanandam, Ahuti Prasad, Raghu Babu, Venu Madhav, Mukesh Rishi, Sana, Surekha Vani and Pragathi. The music has been composed by Thaman S. and Chota K. Naidu is the director of photography. The dialogues are by Koratala Shiva, editing by Marthand K. Pawan Kalyan Missed His Own Karthavyam

'Karthavyame devaalauyam...karthavyame maszid....karthavyame church...karthavyaanni sarigga nirvarthisthe manishe devudu'. This is the most powerful dialogue from 'Komaram Puli', and was being enjoyed by his fans through the movie's trailers before the release of the movie.

Right now, they question him, If he really believes in what he preaches, if he observes his 'karthavyam' really, he should not have taken that much prolonged time to complete an ordinary flick for a precious time of two and half years. In that stipulated time, he should have finished at least four movies. What is done is done. Fans are now demanding him to do more number of movies at least from now on.

Harshavardhan, Trinetrudu, Haripriya, Aditi, Eva, Bhakti and Haneefa acquit themselves well. Bhumika is her usual self. Siva Prasad and MS Narayana perform as usual.

The Techniques

The theme is good and the presentation is quite fine. But the fine tuning of growing up goes haywire because of too many characters. The naunces of the conflict between past relationships and future hopes have not been dealt with adequately. Too many issues cloud the exposition of the theme . Music is pleasing. Cinematography is good. Audiography adds to the feel.

Happy Happygaa - Movie Review

Film: Happy Happyga
Cast: Varun Sandesh, Sharanya Mohan, Vega, Ali, Ravi Shankar, M S Narayana, Ranjitha, Saptagiri, Telangana Shakuntala and others
Dialogues: Anil Ravipudi
Lyrics: Sirivennela Seetaramashastry
Cinematography: Venki A Darshan
Editing: K V Krishna Reddy
Produced by: Durgaprasad Vadlamudi
Story, screenplay and directed by: Priya Sharan
Release date: August 20, 2010
CBFC Rating: U

What’s it about
A happy go lucky guy Santosh (Varun Sandesh) runs a company that sends greetings personally. He derives happiness from helping others when they are in sorrow. This good-natured guy falls in love with Pooja (Vega), who just returns from UK. Santosh and Pooja become good friends, when he tries to express his love to her, she tells him that she doesn’t believe in love and has no good opinion about love marriage. Hoping to convince her later, he suppresses his feelings then. One day he hands over his love letters to her saying he has written thinking of his dream lover. When she asks him to show that dream lover, he casually shows a girl randomly and the girl turns out to be Priya (Sharanya Mohan), sister of the city’s don. Pooja vows to make Priya and his friend Santosh together and the triangle drama proceeds with twists and turns.

Analysis

Romantic stories are made dime a dozen in Tollywood. Most of them are made in similar pattern. But these days, most of the filmmakers are looking ‘inspiration for Korean movies’ for romantic dramas and adopting them to suit our Telugu audiences and failing to recreate the same magic of the original. Happy Happygaa is also poor copy of a Korean triangle love story but the first time director has made it in such a sloppy way that even before the interval comes, you start looking for an exit door. Till interval the movie doesn’t move forward. The film’s so-called twists and turns all happen in the last twenty minutes in a hurry, leaving the audiences in flurry of boredom. The director should be sent to crash course in direction; his narrative skills, his treatment and his selection of casting – all show lack of creativity and inexperience.

Except for Manisharma’s couple of good songs, Sirivennela’s meaningful lyrics and comedy scenes, the film is sheer boredom.

Performances

Even after doing five films, Varun Sandesh has not improved much as performer. His expressions and his dialogue delivery still are amateurish. The less said about the heroines the better - both Sharanya Mohan and Vega are best suited for ‘sister roles’ than heroine characters. Ali evokes some good laughter and he has lengthy role that is almost equal to the film’s hero Varun Sandesh.

Two songs are lilting and Manisharma on the whole has given better work for this movie. Sirivennela lyrics are also meaningful. Cinematography, editing, and other technical departments also don’t add any gloss to the movie. Some of the dialogues by Anil are good but the film’s main drawback is bad screenplay and poor narration. The first time director has not shown a single bit of creativity either in screenplay or in direction.

Don Seenu - Movie Review

Film: Don Seenu
Cast: Ravi Teja, Srihari, Shriya, Anjana Sukhani, Shayaji Shinde, Mahesh Manjrekar, Brahmanandam, Ali, Raghubabu, Brahmaji, Surekha Vani, Sudha, and others
Story, screenplay: Kona Venkat
Music: Manisharma
Cinematography: Sameer Reddy
Editing: Gowtham Raju
Art: A S Prakash
Produced by: Venkat
Banner: R R Movie Makers
Dialogues and directed by: Gopichand Malineni
CBFC Rating: U/A
Release date: August 06, 2010

What’s it about!
As a child, Seenu (Ravi Teja) is fascinated with Amitabh Bachchan’s acting and his especially the star’s role of Don. His sole aim is to become Don; so he changes his name to Don Seenu. His stepmother scolds as he turning into a bad guy that prompts him to run away from home. Years later, he comes to Hyderabad and joins in a gang run by Machiraju (Shayaji Shinde) who wants to on another gang leader Narsing (Srihari). Machiraju sends Don Seenu to Germany to woo Narsing’s sister Deepthi (Shriya), to scuttle her marriage alliance with a big businessman’s (Mahesh Manjrekar) son. Rest of the drama is all about Don Seenu impressing Deepthi (Shriya) and revealing his true side in the end.

Analysis

Most of recent Ravi Teja’s films are packaged in similar pattern with some good laughs, some action sequences, and a little bit of glamour. Don Seenu has the same elements. It is regular mass action entertainer. You don’t find anything new in the movie but gets some good laughs in the first half thanks to Ali and Venu Madhav and some more entertainment in the second half by Brahmanandam.

Don Seenu is clearly intended for Ravi Teja’s target audiences in B and C centers, so most of the scenes are designed in such way with liberal dose of double meaning dialogues. First half is racy but second half drags on. It needs urgent trimming. On the whole, it may be termed as a time pass flick.

Performances

Ravi Teja is first rate in scenes where he has to act as a mute guy. As a fan of Amitabh Bachchan he also mimics the superstar in dialogues. Shriya who is returned to straight Telugu film after long time adds glamour quotient. She is eye-catching in some scenes. The other heroine Anjana Sukhani hardly has heroine looks. Srihari lends credence to his role. Ali evokes laughter and so is Brahmanandam. In fact, both of them bring cheerfulness to otherwise dull proceedings. Shayji, Mahesh Manjrekar, Surekha Vani and others are okay in their roles.

Cinematography by Sameer Reddy is pleasant. Dialogues are witty sometimes. Script is weak. Kona Venkat’s screenplay runs on predictable manner (more like 'Adhurs' and 'Ready'). Music by Manisharma is okay. And new director Gopichand Malineni has not shown any trace of novelty in the film. Production values by R R Moviemakers are excellent. Looks like they have invested lot of money for grandeur.

Bottom-line!

If you are expecting typical laughs from Ravi Teja’s film, Don Seenu may seem good timepass. But if you are really looking some ‘kick’ entertainment, this film is not right choice. On the whole, Don Seenu is predictable but the package of glamour, some comedy and action makes it okay. Second half is big letdown

Will 'Brindavanam' Be Another 'Yamadonga'?

It is known news that young tiger NTR junior who scored a decent hit with his recent venture ‘Adhurs’ is currently busy with the shooting of his new movie ‘Brindavanam’. Now, many are trying to see if this is going to be another ‘Yamadonga’ or not.

Well, the reason for that connection is that the makers have announced that ‘Brindavanam’ would be hitting the screens on August 15th and it was exactly the same date when junior’s blockbuster hit ‘Yamadonga’ also hit the screens few years back.

That film literally changed the stars of junior.

Now, with the same date matching, the query is if this one would give the same impact or not. But the catch is that ‘Yamadonga’ had the tough taskmaster S S Rajamouli as the director and this time, it is the flop director Vamsi Paidipalli of ‘Munna’ who is wielding the megaphone. Let us see what happens…

Adhurs - Movie Review

Film: Adhurs
Cast: NTR (Dual role), Nayanatara, Sheela, Brahmanandam, Mahesh Manjrekar, Nasser, Sudha, Raghu Babu, and others

Story: Kona Venkat

Music: Devi Sri Prasad
Cinematography: Chota K Naidu
Editing: Gowtham Raju
Art: Anand Sai

Produced by: Vallabhaneni Vamsimohan
Presented by: Kodali Naani

Screenplay and directed by: V V Vinayak
Release Date: Jan 13, 2010

What's it about!

Chari (NTR) is an assistant poojari to Bhattacharya (Brahmanandam) and performing poojas on religious activities is their livelihood. Thinking of marrying the beautiful Chandralekha (Nayanatara), who lost her father, Bhattacharya acts as savior to her family but she loves Chari eventually. On other hand, there is Narsinha or Narsi in short (NTR) who steals money from gangsters and hands over it to a police officer (Shayaji Shinde) who promised Narsi a post in police system. Narsi also romances with this police officer's daughter (Sheela). As things progressing with comic scenes, suddenly it is revealed that a Don (Mahesh Manjrekar) in Kolkota in on the look out for Narsi. Why this Don want Narsi and how Chari and Narsi, both estranged twins, meet forms the rest of the film.

Analysis

Adhurs is unpretentious masala film with emphasis on comedy. For the first time in his career, NTR does lengthy comedy episodes with Brahmanandam and has succeeded. Some really funny scenes and hilarious moments shot between NTR and Brahmanandam in the first half are the major asset to the movie in an otherwise regular commercial formula film. If you have seen films like EVV's Hello Brother, Rakesh Roshan's Krish and Akshya Kumar's Singh Is Kingg, you ma strive hard to find anything new in this film, but director Vinayak has tried put old wine in new bottle. After Krishna, he has once again put Brahmanandam in main focus.

Songs, NTR- Brahmandam comedy, dual characters (NTR) dancing in one frame, NTR's performance as Chari are appreciable. On the downside, post interval the film goes haywire. Entire second half missed the track and thereby lessened the impact of entertainment. Also the climax is a big letdown. Tacky visual effects in the climax and bad cinematography completely marred the movie in the end. Director Vinayak should also have taken care in the selection of heroines opposite NTR.

Performances

NTR appears in two different roles and he has given an extra dimension to the character of a timid Brahmin and steers it to the winning post. His dances are also good, despite injuring severely in an accident in the midst of film's shooting. The second role that that he has done is very typical of NTR's past films. Dialogue delivery has always been NTR's strength and he has used it best for the role of Chari with typical accent. NTR should hire a specialist in fashion to design his costumes if he wants to connect with the youth. His costumes in the film are pretty bad.

Brahmanandam gets lengthy role and like always he is the strength to the film.. In many scenes, it is actually Brahmanandam who brought zing.

The film lacks glamour quotient despite presence of Nayanathara as she looks older to NTR and their pairing seems very odd. Sheela is there to bare her skin and she does all the justice to it. In other important roles, Raghu Babu, Nasser, M.S and Mahesh Manjrekar shine. Music by Devi Sri Prasad is good but not that rocking. Of the songs, Chandrakala..Chandrakala and Adhurs Adhurs are the best.

Cinematography by Chota K Naidu is quite ordinary. Dialogues are really funny in some scenes. Director Vinayak has not delivered his best but has tried to balance the comedy with action to some extent. The film's screenplay in the second half doesn't have zing and climax is tacky.

Bottom-line

NTR and Brahmanandam's comedy is good. You can watch it for once for those hilarious moments between these two actors. But again, it is not perfect masala entertainer. On the whole, Adhurs is an okay movie.

The film is mix of several films like Hello Brother, Krish (hero's father, a scientist, jailed in remote island by don), Singh Is King, and old NTR's movies like Gajadonga, etc.
