TV show Bigg Boss only for adult viewing: I&B

In view of the numerous complaints from viewers and women’s outfits about indecent content, the Information and Broadcasting Ministry has asked channels airing TV shows Bigg Boss and Rakhi ka Insaaf to air them only between 11 pm and 5 am, virtually bracketing them as only for adult viewing and not for universal viewing. The shows cannot also be repeated in any other time slot or shown on news programmes.

While Bigg Boss is being aired on Colors, Rakhi ka Insaaf is aired on NDTV Imagine. Both are prime time shows.

This is the first time that the Information and Broadcasting ministry has compulsorily changed time slots of popular TV shows.

Rana in Deva Katta’s film

Daggubati Rana, who made his debut with Sekhar Kammula’s Leader, is reportedly signed up to play the lead in an untitled film to be directed by Deva Katta whose last film Prasthanam won critical acclaim and has been the only Telugu film to be selected for screening at the forthcoming International Film Festival of India to be held in Goa.

Rana is presently shooting for Nenu Na Rakshasi which is being directed by Puri Jagannath.

Mega Star 150th Movie to Starts on February 18th

Megastar Chiranjeevi has announced that his 150th movie will start on february 18th, 2011.He has decided to spend 10 days in a month for movie discussions, shooting etc and rest 20 days in a month for his party affairs and this policy will start from today.Cast and crew are not yet decided but few names of directors are being considered and V.V.Vinayak, Murugadoss are among them.Anushka’s name is being considered as main heroine.It is also heard that Ramcharan is planned to appear in a special role for few minutes in this megamovie.Chiru said that his 150th movie will be in lines of TAGORE and will be a message oriented subject with human and family values in it.Movie will start in february and release in october 2011.

Nani in Rajamouli’s Eega

If you are not failing in your attempts means you are not too much experimenting. This might have prompted successful director to try something different. Without many expectations, Rajamouli made Maryada Ramanna after super hit of Magadheera, the film turned to be a hit at the box-office and critically acclaimed.

Rajamouli’s next ‘Eega’ will be a different movie from what the director churned out in the past. It will be made with the help of cartoons and graphics. Eega (housefly) is the leading character in the movie.

Rajamouli is considering actor Nani to play an important role in the movie. Popular heroine will play female lead in this experimental flick.

Venkatesh in Telugu remake of Malayalam Bodyguard

The Malayalam hit film Bodyguard is being remade in Telugu with Venkatesh as the hero. Siddique, director of the original will helm the Telugu remake also which will be produced by C. Venkataraju and Sivaraju. The rest of the cast and crew are being finalised.

Siddique is remaking the film in Tamil with Vijay and Asin and in Hindi with Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor.

TDP activists protest over portrayal of NTR in Rakta Charitra

Telugu Desam Party activists protested at Krishna theatre in Anathapur alleging that late NT Rama Rao was portrayed in a bad taste.

Shatrughan Sinha plays the role of NTR in Ram Gopal Varma’s Rakta Charitra. Police has arrested about 30 activists who tried to stop the exhibition of movie.

Tollywood film producers council divided

Tollywood film producers’ council is currently divided into two groups: one is the A-league film makers who own a huge number of theatres and have half-a-dozen actors in their family, and the other is small movie makers who make films on a budget of less than Rs 5 crore and struggle to get theatres to screen their films.

The fight between these two groups in the Telugu Film Producers’ Council led to the resignation of Mr Shyam Prasad Reddy, the president of the Council on October 14.

Trouble broke into the open when the producers’ council unanimously passed a resolution a month ago, requesting the government to reduce ticket prices of theatres, cut shooting location charges by 75 %, make it mandatory for theatres to screen small budget movies for at least 16 weeks and restrict screening of dubbed movies to 50 theatres in the state.

Orange releasing on Nov 12

Ram Charna Tej 3rd film Orange is all set to release on Nove 12 and the audio will be launched on October 25.

Orange, described as a new wave love story with the tag line Love in Fall is directed by Bommarillu Bhaskar. The female leads are played by Genelia D’Souza and Shahzahn Padamsee. Music is composed by Harris Jayaraj.

The film is produced by Naga Babu under the banner of Anjana Productions.

Collector Gari Bharya to hit screens on Diwali

The film Collector Gari Bharya, featuring Bhumika and Prakash Raj in the lead roles, is slated for release on November 5.

The film is jointly produced by Vanitha Vani and Radhika Reddy under the banner of Amod Entertainments and Tekula Krupakar Reddy is making his debut as director.

Prakash Raj and Bhumika play husband and wife and the family drama unfolds as the husband is a district collector and the wife is academically highly qualified and seeks her own career which creates a conflict of mutual interests.

Will Brindavam become a blockbuster?

Real star Sri Hari’s earlier predictions for Nuvvosthanante Nenoddantana and Magadheera turned out to be true.

The same star has predicted that NTR’s Brindavanam will be a blockbuster. Will Sri Hari be third time right? If one goes by the reviews the movie appears to be a winner. Jr NTR Fans To Boycott ‘Brindavanam’

NTR Fans are now angry on their star’s film ‘Brindavanam’. This sounds wild. But this is true as per the reports. A couple of days ago Dil Raju called for a Press Meet and said that he is postponing the release of ‘Brindavanam’ for 1 week due to technical reasons. Up to that is ok. But he extended saying, “Jr NTR fans are sending warnings to me stating that the consequences will be worst if I postpone the film release from Oct 8th. But I’m not here to bend for such warnings”.

This has ignited negative sparks among Jr NTR fans and hence they are planning to show their power by calling for a non cooperation movement.

It is known that fans are vital force for any big star’s film. They create hype; they do hungama and build up craze for the film. They gather the information about collections and frequently deliver that to media. But this time, as producer Dil Raju has shown his arrogance on fans, things may turn other way. And sources say that even Jr NTR is taking the side of fans as the film got postponed although he pressured Dil Raju not to, due to prestige issue (since Khaleja is releasing on Oct 7th). Now sources say that Jr NTR may not show interest in promoting the film but will get busy in the shooting of ‘Shakti’.

We have to see what happens to Brindavanam. Let us wish Dil Raju comes out with flying colors with this project. Already he is in neck deep financial troubles. Let Brindavanam give him solace.

Sumanth’s film titled Rim zim movie

The forthcoming film of Sumanth has been given the title Rim Zim. Director PG Sipivista says that the title suits the theme of the film as it deals with the conflict of career and romance in young people. Priyamani and Vimala Raman play the female leads.

The film is being produced by Kumar Brothers under the banner of Kumar Brothers Cinema. The music has been composed by Koti.

The last schedule of shooting of Rim Zim is completed in Goa and a couple of songs are yet to be canned. The film is being planned for Diwali release

Special screening of Robot for Bollywood celebs

With the tri-lingual film Robot declared a super hit by trade pundits, Rajinikanth and director Shankar are planning special screening of the film for selected Bollywood celebrities.

Rajinikanth is a fan of Dev Anand and a special show has been arranged for him. Similarly, one more screening is for Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya.

The producers and distributors of the film are also arranging special screenings for Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, and directors Sanjay Leela Bansali and Ashutosh Gowarikar.

Shruthi Hassan troubling Hero

Kamal Haasan’s daughter Shruti, who was roaming between Chennai, Mumbai and Hyderabad for the shooting of her upcoming movies. Presently she is romancing in Turkey with Siddharth for the shooting of their new film ‘Anaganaga Oka Dheerudu’. Shruti is shaking a leg with her co-star Siddharth, as per the sources the pretty lass is giving a tough time to Siddharth with her dance moves.

Sources say that Siddarth is finding tough time joining leg with Shruthi who is an avid trained dancer. But still young looking man is trying to cope with her burning extra calories and bending bones. Anagananga Oka Dheerudu is a fantasy movie which is written and directed by newcomer Prakash Kovelamudi. The music for this movie has been scored by the famous duo of Salim-Sulaiman.

RGV's next film on KCR?

Controversial director Ram Gopal Varma is coming back into Tollywood with controversial subjects after a long gap. Now RGV is arriving with ‘Rakta Charitra’ which talks about the Seema factionists based on Paritala Ravi. Recently he announced his next film has been titled ‘Bezawada Rowdylu’, a story based on the gang wars of Vijayawada.

The latest buzz is that he is coming up with a new film based on KCR.As per the sources he is already doing groundwork on KCR and he will do formal announcement very soon on this. So if he comes with that subject on Telangana and KCR, we have to wait for the KCR comments on this.

Sensational director SS Rajamouli’s next film ‘Eega’ will launch on November 1st.Eega movie is another experiment film from SS Rajamouli after Maryada Ramanna. ‘Eega’ will be based on a housefly. Eega will be a combination of animation and live actions with lot of computer graphics.
