Nokia C3 Smartphone Reviews

The Nokia C3 comes in three colours. Review sample was the slate grey option, which is really more blue than grey and a nice enough shade. There are also hot pink (eek!) and golden white versions. The new Nokia C3 handset is Nokia’s most compact messenger phone right now. Based on the S40 platform, with a sleek design and a full Qwerty keyboard, the Nokia C3 should grab the attention of the active social media consumers. The display format is pretty standard, it is 2.4-inches, and the Nokia C3 Smartphone itself is easy to handle. The new Nokia C3 cell phone is equipped with a 3.5-inch plug and USB interfaces. The so-called dedicated headers under the display give immediate access to the most important thing, which the Nokia C3 mobile phone is meant for, namely messaging, e-mail and social networking.

Facebook and Twitter feeds can be delivered live to the main screen, and Wi-Fi helps you keep a handle on data usage. You'll need that, actually, because this handset lacks 3G. You'll be relying on GPRS and EDGE for all your network based data comms.

Nokia C3 Features
The thought behind the immediate access to social networking or messaging is that these applications can be accessed immediately from the start screen. Nokia has designed the C3 handset to make it as smooth as possible to be active within social networks. All messenger applications are immediately accessible from the start screen or via the dedicated button under the display. For fans of digital photography, there is an integrated 2 Megapixel camera.

Nokia C3 Smartphone
It is handy to have the possibility to configure the Nokia C3’s start screen according to one’s own tastes. It’s possible to show your favorite contacts immediately above the display, so that you can get in touch with them immediately. Underneath that, you can, for example, display Facebook and Twitter account feeds, so that you will always be immediately up to date with information from your contacts. And of course Nokia would like to see users visit the Ovi store, where applications are available online. The Ovi store is also quickly and easily accessible.

Nokia C3 review
Unfortunately, the Nokia C3 cell phone has to make do without 3G support and the connection will be made with GSM / GPRS / EDGE speed. It is remarkable that the Nokia C3 phone is equipped with Wi-Fi, which is a feature that we do not often see in S40 Smartphones. Officially the new Nokia messenger phone supports 8GB microSDHC, but it is expected that also a 32GB microSDHC card will be supported. The Nokia C3 mobile phone will be available soon.

Microsoft Windows 2000, Windows XP SP2 Retire Today‎ - Dies 7

Microsoft Windows 2000 and Windows XP Service Pack 2 officially get retire and dragged to the Recycle Bin today. Those two old editions of Microsoft's operating system won't magically stop working at the stroke of midnight. But today ends the company's support for each: It will no longer release new security fixes or provide technical assistance for them. So if you want to keep running them, you're on your own.

Windows 2000 looked obsolete back in 2005, five years after its debut; giving its largely corporate users another five years of support was more than generous enough. Microsoft is a for-profit company, not a public utility; it is within its rights to direct its resources towards products it sells today.

As we said last year, 2010 is a big year for Microsoft because we’re waiting to see which way the tide will turn on enterprise adoption of Windows 7. Lots of companies are on the fence about the migration, and many others have expressed the interest to upgrade from Windows XP to 7, but could ditch that idea if skipping Windows 7 develops into a corporate best practice, the same way skipping Vista did.

According to new data revealed by Microsoft, the enterprise upgrade to Windows 7 does not have much momentum so far in 2010. At Microsoft’s Worldwide Partner Conference 2010 in Washington, D.C. on Monday, Microsoft Windows corporate vice president Tammi Reller said that 74% of business computers are still running Windows XP. She also said that the average age of the PC is now 4.4 years old, which is the highest number that Microsoft has seen in over a decade.

Naturally, Microsoft spins this as a huge opportunity for the company to make a lot of money by selling copies of Windows 7 to these slow upgraders. CEO Steve Ballmer predicted on Monday that Microsoft would sell 350 million copies of Windows 7 licenses by the end of 2010.

But, if you read between the lines, part of the message here is that Windows 7 adoption has not taken hold yet, and Microsoft is still hustling to convince businesses to upgrade.
