Kamal Hassan Directs One Telugu Movie

The multi talented, real megastar, actor Kamal Hassan who can be termed as Al Pacino of Indian cinema is all set to do a direct Telugu movie. His Telugu flicks 'Sagara Sangamam' and 'Swathimuthyam' still stand as the all time classic flicks of Telugu cinema. Now the latest buzz is that, after almost a decade he will be appearing on the Telugu screens with a new flick 'Eenadu'. We have to wait for more details on this one.

Kamal Hassan Spends Day With Mohanlal

Kamal Hassan flew down to Kochi to spend the day with Malayalam superstar Mohanlal to discuss the final script and shooting schedules of their new film.

Kamal spent the day with Mohanlal at his newly opened star hotel Travancore Court in the heart of Ernakulam. Later Mohanlal confirmed that he is doing the film which has been tentatively titled Thalaivan Irukiran, a remake of the Hindi film A Wednesday.

Mohanlal made it clear that Kamal will do the role of the Naseeruddin Shah, while he will do the role done by Anupam Kher in the original for the Tamil version. As per sources close to Rajkamal who are producing the film in Tamil and Telugu, Venkatesh will replace Mohanlal in the Telugu version. Telugu Film News

The film will be directed by Chakri, an US based ad filmmaker and a friend of Kamal Hassan. There are no women in the film, other than the role of a television anchor who chronicles the event.

For this role Mirchi Suchi and SS Music Veejay Pooja has been approached. But nothing has been finalized, though Kerala papers are talking about Mallika Sherawat playing the television reporter, fully clad in a sari!

The shoot of Thalaivan Irukiran, is likely to start from March 9 in Chennai and will later be shot in Hyderabad. Mohanlal who is doing Blessys new film in Malayalam, says he has given 18 days call sheet for the film, and will join the shoot from March 23. The film is being made as a quickie and is likely to release in July.
